Frequently Asked Questions

  • I do not currently accept insurance at this time. I can however offer a superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider. Please let me know in advance if you are planning to submit to insurance. My standard fee for a 50-min session is $150. Please inquire about an appointment to receive more information about specific payment costs. Payment arrangements can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

  • Clients are asked to pay to pay at the beginning of session. You can pay online by card through my client portal or in person by cash or check.

  • I want to make sure you have the right therapist to fit your needs, whether that is with me or someone else. I might be the right therapist for you if you value the benefits and accessibility of online therapy and are motivated for doing a bit of work in between sessions. We might also be a good fit if you currently live overseas as I am set up for and specialize in this type of counseling.

I might not be the right therapist fit for you or your family if you are desiring in-person counseling services or you or your family member are not motivated to put strategies into practice at this time. If at any time you feel your needs might be better met elsewhere, please do not hesitate to let me know so we can get you the referrals and resources you need.

  • This depends on the issues bringing you to therapy. I usually recommend a minimum of 6-12 sessions for you to experience progress, but I can provide a better idea following your initial session.

  • Regular attendance is important to ensure you receive the full benefits of counseling. Weekly or bi-weekly sessions are usually recommended and, when possible, the same time can be reserved for you each week.

  • I run a paperless practice. Once you are accepted as a client, you will receive a link to my client portal where you can fill out all the required forms and communicate with me via a secure messaging system. You may access the client portal from the website at any time.

  • The first session of therapy can be an intimidating process for anyone, but I will walk you through all of it step-by step! I primarily see clients through Zoom, which is a HIPAA approved software. We will begin the first session by reviewing forms of consent. Then, we will take the time to get to know each other, and I will learn, in more depth, what you hope to gain from therapy. We will set up collaborative goals for our time together and determine how often we will need to meet to accomplish them.

  • I have a passion for incorporating the Christian faith and biblical principles in therapy sessions. However, you the client have full authority on how much or how little you would like faith-based concepts included in session.

  • Nope! I welcome people of from all faiths and backgrounds to my therapy practice. Although I am well-versed in biblical teaching and believe a lot of healing comes with the incorporation of Biblical principles in session, it is not required, and you do not have to be a Christian or of any particularly religious affiliation to receive therapy services.

  • If you are interested in taking the next step and making an appointment with me, you may click on the appointments tab, fill out the questions, and click submit! • For most people in a busy world, tele-health is a valuable option, and research shows clients experience similar benefits from online therapy as with in-person services. Online therapy works successfully with even very young and hyperactive clients on a case-by-case basis. Tele-health also has the advantages of saving on travel time to and from appointments and the ability to access counseling services from the safety and comfort of your home or other preferred location.

Clients who might not experience a good fit with online therapy are ones dealing with active suicidal ideation or where physical danger is a concern. Family therapy is also possible, but there are added challenges of having multiple people on a screen. And, of course, some clients prefer meeting in-person for therapy.

I primarily see clients through Zoom and offer in-person counseling on a case-by-case basis.

  • I do not. Please see your doctor or psychologist for medication-related inquires.
